I wholeheartedly support the views expressed by John Foliot in his
argument for the removal of the key attribute from the XHTML 2
specification:

I have been involved in the field of web accessibility since 1999, and
while there is a clear need to enhance device-independent access to web
content, in that time I have failed to see any evidence that HTML
accesskeys in their current form have a positive impact on keyboard
accessibility. I hope you will make the decision to alter the draft
specification as recommended by Mr Foliot.
