There is something that I have often wondered and haven't been able to
find a conclusive answer to.

 

I often want to describe to a reader some thing like:

 

To save the document click File > Save.

 

How should I mark this up in XHTML? I have often used the <kbd> tag
(i.e. <kbd>File &gt; Save</kbd>), because you (hopefully) could use you
keyboard to navigate the menu. However it feels like a bit of a misuse
to me. It would also be nice to have some way of denoting the series of
actions e.g.
<userAction><click>File</click><click>Save</click></userAction>. This
could then also be applied to a series of typed commands e.g.
<userAction><kbd>./configure</kbd><kbd>make</kbd><kbd>make
install</kbd></userAction>. Or something like that!

 

Perhaps this sort of thing could be made clearer in XHTML 2.
