Over the past couple years, Mozilla has received a couple bug reports on the
issue of being able to modify <input type="checkbox" readonly> fields.
While this issue isn't hotly debated like <img> alt/title attributes, a
clarification on whether <input type="..."> is or is not meaningful for
<input type="checkbox">, <input type="radio">, and <input type="file">
would resolve questions over what behavior is called for HTML 4.0, and
hence XHTML 1.0 and XHTML 1.1.
